I'm new to anime and just finished Black Lagoon. What other shows should I watch next? This deserved more episodes and it was really unique for me. Its like the more R-rated version of what Archer, Rick and Morty or Bookdocks should've evolved into.

I've never seen this (but I'm going to watch it for sure now!), but the way you describe it, it really comes off as a Cowboy Beebop-type, the same motly crew, getting into questionably legal shenanigans, with lots of deep philosophizing during their down time. It's just that it happens on a naval ship, rather than a space ship. And I am here for it, one hundred percent.

I was obsessed with this anime and with monster. I had to get counseling at the age of 12 because of my lack of empathy to my classmates and was banned from watching most graphic content. The last one wasn’t really in-forced at home. I’m better now and still like jin roh and Monster.

I really enjoyed this show but i gotta admit when i was watching it as soon as i got to The twins episode afterwards i felt like a husk. If you know you know that shit had me fucked up for a few days.

JP isn't personally fixing races during the movie. It's his mechanic who's doing it to fund JP's racing. The ONLY problem I have with the movie is how the race ends... but not HOW it ends. Otherwise, it's 100% excellent.

...So it's a world where demons/devils won, and everyone's getting corrupted into lesser devils in a self feeding cycle of evil/pain.

Acting like the show couldn't be made today... yet all the reasons you list are superficial things found in many other mature rated anime. The reason most anime is trash is the same reason why most games post-2010 are trash. It's because corporations want to do the least amount of effort for the most profit. Which just means copying what is popular and then slapping a new coat of paint on it. No risk, low cost, highest viewing demographic. Which means your genric isekai, geneic high school setting, and generic black and white morality. It's that simple. With few exceptions to the rule.

The reason why the villains suck and are one dimensional is because the best villains are actually the protagonists and their Allies.
